Rue de Seine

Living in Paris, Rue de Seine founder and designer Michele Corty was constantly inspired by the effortless bohemian style of Saint-Germain-des-Près, and its free-spirited residents. After marrying the love of her life on Rue de Seine, a street humming with creativity, artistic energy, passion and art, Michele moved back to New Zealand and started Rue. Beginning with a small team of six in a shared studio space and a boutique in Newmarket, Rue de Seine has now grown to a worldwide company wholesaling gowns from their Auckland Atelier to over 80 retailers all across the globe. All production takes place in-house. From the initial concept and lace design to the final gown, the Auckland Atelier is where their designers, cutters, machinists and quality controllers work with the utmost care and love for their craft. The Rue team has now grown to over 90 incredibly talented people, coming together to bring the magic to life for brides. Each Rue de Seine dress is cut and is constructed from start to finish by the same seamstress. This helps to ensure consistency and the same high standard of finishing across every garment. Having everything under one roof allows them to share and communicate ideas across all departments, ultimately allowing them to uphold a consistently high standard and create beautifully crafted Rue gowns. Every lace used in a Rue de Seine gown is designed in-house. It is exclusive to Rue de Seine, ensuring Michele and her Design Team can continue to create unique, fashion-forward gowns that embody the bohemian spirit and set Rue apart from the rest of the bridal world. Believing that design is a collaborative art form, Rue de Seine designers work closely with the sampling team to see the spirit of every collection come to life at the expert hands of their atelier’s talented seamstresses.
