Location

The location where you plan on having your winter wedding ceremony and reception is very important. It is also imperative that you have an alternate plan just in case something unforeseen pops up. This highly likely, especially with the weather almost always unpredictable. Being able to relocate to an indoor facility on short notice would be a good solution as long as it does not cause many issues for you and your guests.  The weather could also play havoc with travel for members of the wedding party and or guests that might have to travel some distance to get to where your wedding is being held.

Bundle Up!

One of the biggest draws to an outdoor winter wedding is the amazing scenery that can only be found during the winter months. Unfortunately, having an outdoor ceremony in the middle of winter can present its own unique challenges. One of the big challenges is how to keep everyone from freezing to death during the wedding ceremony. One way is to be sure to have plenty of warm blankets for all of your guests who will be sitting throughout the ceremony, gloves, and hats for those who did not bring them will also help to provide an extra measure of protection. You may also consider a way to get your guests out of the cold.

Having the perfect Wedding Album to remember the special day is probably one of the most important decisions that a bride to be can make. While for the most part the best scenery for a wintertime wedding can only be found outside, it is very important to note that during the winter months daylight is much more limited. So, that means you will need to account for this if you are planning on having an evening ceremony. You will want to have an alternative plan ready to have at least part of your photos to be taken inside.

Don’t Make An Incorrect Financial Assumption

Making assumptions when you are planning a wedding can be disastrous and should be avoided. This is especially true when it comes to venues and travel in certain areas. While there are definitely different prices for travel and for accommodations depending on where you are wanting to hold your wedding and reception. So, while wintertime in many areas usually means that you will likely pay less, it is absolutely not always the case. So, it is very smart to have an alternate location for which you can hold your wintertime wedding. This will help you avoid any undue stress caused by the disappointment that could be caused if you cannot afford your first option.

Remember To Include A Wedding Emergency Kit

A wintertime wedding presents a unique set of concerns that center around the weather and the temperature to be more specific. While not all people plan winter weddings to include outside activities, but if you will be planning on it, then you will want to consider how you are going to help your wedding party and all of your guests deal with the low temperature and other weather conditions. Having an emergency kit available is one way to help you be prepared. The kit should include things like blankets, hats, scarves, and gloves or mittens.

Don’t Forget The Wedding Insurance

Last, but certainly not least, you should always remember to cover yourself and your financial future by getting Wedding Insurance. This is especially important if you live in an area that is prone to heavy winter storms. Many vendor contracts have “Act of Nature” clauses which will protect you in the event of any type of disaster declaration is announced and you are forced to cancel at the last minute. You don’t want to be stuck having to pay thousands of dollars and you never get to have your special day.

A wintertime wedding can be just as amazing as any other time, but there are definitely circumstances that can easily get in the way. The problem is if you are not properly prepared and ready to pivot to another option you could easily end up with a ruined wedding day. However, if on the hand you have thought about the possibility that certain things may go wrong and you put together a contingency plan you should be in good condition.
